GOT A QUESTION ABOUT RESHAPE YOUR MIND & LOSE 'WEIGHT' WITH HOLY SPIRIT
Send it to email@example.com
Do I have to be 40 to join the challenge?
No. This challenge is for anyone who is ready to go on a journey with Holy Spirit to become healthier in their mind/soul and body.
You need to be old enough to take full responsibility for your actions and decisions.
Why are you doing the challenge?
I share in my previous blog a little bit about how it came to be.
I realised that my battle with weight loss is more than just dieting. The Holy Spirit revealed my condition from speaking out at the Mother & daughter retreat. My issue is more than just food and exercise, it is a condition of my soul and my body.
When given an invitation, you have the choice to refuse or accept. I am choosing to accept.
This will require me to go deeper than just the exterior of my physical body. For years I have done yoyo dieting and never succeeded, now I am discovering there is more. This is to do with the fruit of the Holy Spirit within me, my mindset, my relationship with food and among other things.
I am ready to face ME with Him.
Who is this for?
Anyone is welcome to join this challenge -
who wants to lose weight (lbs & kgs),
reframe their mind concerning certain soul issues, wounds, scars and misinformation which has kept them from being themselves or moving forward free in their lives,
gaining momentum in their process,
build their self-control,
have a new experience with the Holy Spirit in a supporting community
unlearn and relearn from the word of God how to keep your soul and body in good health
stripe the layers off and solidify the foundation of their identity in Jesus Christ
be strengthened for their race called life
I don't want to lose weight, can I still take part?
Yes, you can. As I said above anyone is welcome to join the challenge, as long as you know why you are joining.
What does that mean “as long as you know why you are joining”?
The King James Version of Hebrews 12:1 reads: “let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us,”
Hebrews 12:1 KJV
Here are 6 other versions of the same verse:
The Passion Translation:
“So we must let go of every wound that has pierced us and the sin we so easily fall into. Then we will be able to run life’s marathon race with passion and determination, for the path has been already marked out before us.”
Hebrews 12:1 TPT
“It means we’d better get on with it. Strip down, start running—and never quit! No extra spiritual fat, no parasitic sins. Keep your eyes on Jesus, who both began and finished this race we’re in. Study how he did it. Because he never lost sight of where he was headed—that exhilarating finish in and with God—he could put up with anything along the way: Cross, shame, whatever.
Hebrews 12:1-3 MSG
The Easy Bible:
“We must be like people who run in a race. We must throw away everything that stops us from running well. The sins that we do make us fall down very easily. We must not let those sins rule us. God has prepared the way that is in front of us. We must continue to be strong while we run along that way. We must choose to run that race well.”
Hebrews 12:1 EASY
The New International Revised Version:
“So let us throw off everything that stands in our way. Let us throw off any sin that holds on to us so tightly. And let us keep on running the race marked out for us.”
Hebrews 12:1 NIRV
The New American Standard Bible:
“let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us,”
Hebrews 12:1 NASB
The Christian Jewish Bible:
“let us, too, put aside every impediment — that is, the sin which easily hampers our forward movement — and keep running with endurance in the contest set before us,”
Messianic Jews (Heb) 12:1 CJB
Your ‘weight’ may not be losing weight as in pounds (lbs) and kilogram (kgs), but the Holy Spirit has been prompting you to position yourself to be emptied out. You have stuff that has been pulling you down and making your race in life a challenge.
The external can be a display of the internal to some extent, this is why weight-loss is the base to start. But there is more to what hides behind the weight.
It is time to get rid of ‘the stuff‘ and offload.
Let’s get ‘lighter’ together.
What can ‘stuff’ look like?
Soul scars and wounds, voices, fears, bad habits, past pains & hurts, unforgiveness, health issues, hinderances and obstructions and burdens, overspending, hiding, sexual issues, procrastination, pornography............
There is no condemnation or judgment, it is a safe space and God wants you to hand this over to Him by laying them down at His Feet - to uproot, heal and free YOU.
The Holy Spirit will show you what the ‘weights’ are.
That’s why this challenge is very unique because it is more than a weight (lbs & kgs) loss challenge. It is about transforming your mind in Christ for your future, as we are to offer ourselves as a living sacrifice set apart for God.
Do I have to complete the 90 days?
That is completely up to you. I am doing this for me but with you. You have to decide for yourself what you want for you. It is your life and your journey. It is always between you and God. I am just happy to support you the best way I can if that is what you need from me.
We all have a choice.
I am trusting in the Holy Spirit. I hope you will too.
Are you going to tell me what to eat and how to exercise?
Absolutely not. You will take full responsibility for what you eat and how you exercise but you will be asked to share what you are doing within the group. This is in order for me and others to support you in your journey.
Over the 90 days, we will focus and commit to challenging ourselves to change certain patterns and cycles in our lives (body & soul/mind) and gain the tools to reframe how you think about yourself, what you eat, how you eat, why you eat while examining the condition of your soul/mind.
This can also be applied to other ‘weights’.
This is a big catalyst to what our body is displaying on the outside, how we manage our relationships and develop intimacy with God. It affects how we live our lives on a day to day basis, even more than we realise or make time to examine.
Can I start later?
You are free to do what you want but I would suggest joining as soon as you finish reading this post.
I understand that not everyone will find out about it at the same time, but I hope you decide to join in straight away.
What’s stopping you? Send me an email, I would like to hear your excuse.
If not now then when? The choice is YOURS.
Do I have to take part in all the activities?
To experience the transformation I believe you desire for your mind/soul and body, your participation in the activities is vital. However, I understand we all have busy schedules, various roles & responsibilities and time is generally flying by, but the question you have to ask yourself is, AM I WORTH INVESTING IN? If your answer is YES, then you will make the time and participate.
It will take your time and effort.
You will need to be determined and focused.
It is about your health & wellbeing, family, future and relationship with God.
You always decide what YOU want to do.
It is about YOUR life.
Your choice. Your life. Your decision.
Do you love you enough to be transformed? You have to live with yourself and your choices, whatever you choose to do will either benefit or hinder you. You decide.
I want to do it but I am tired of all these Facebook and WhatsApp groups?
I totally get that but we need a platform where we can interact with each other. An individual is most likely to succeed when they are part of a community, group or team.
I will do my best not to make the groups be like others, but their purpose is to facilitate our time together.
Able to communicate with everyone directly in real-time.
You can get support - on the good days we'll celebrate each other and on the not so good days, we will pray, encourage and motivate each other to keep moving forward.
Being part of a group has the potential to increase your chances of achieving success and reaching your goals
Participating in the group will keep you engaged and focused
Sharing information, resources and recommendations
A safe space to be open and vulnerable
An opportunity to unlearn and learn
I want to succeed and I want you to succeed as well. Let's help each other to do just that with the Holy Spirit.
Note: Jesus created a group too.
I don't have the time?
I believe we give our time to the things we deem important or a priority in our lives. Only you know what that is for yourself. A challenge requires commitment and focus.
Once people have registered, they will receive a timetable of activities. You decide how engaged you want to be but the more you put in the more you will get out.
Everyone is doing with 24hrs what they want. The question is, what do you want to be doing within your 24hrs?
